If you've had the chance to speak with Clara, a barista at our Palm Springs cafe, you'll notice how welcoming and helpful she is. We're grateful to have someone like her on our team.

What are a few interesting things about you?

Most importantly, my favorite color is yellow. I'm half English and I lived in London for 10 years. I'm an artist and a big fan of art history.

What brought you to Cartel?

Before I lived in this area, I used to visit a lot, and I made sure to always stop at Cartel on my way back out of town because it's the only coffee shop I could trust to make me a delightful cortado. I moved here earlier this year, saw they were hiring, and barged my way onto the team 4 happy months ago.

What's your perspective on Cartel, your community, and the industry as a whole?

I've found that Cartel in Palm Springs means so much to so many people in the community. The meaningful connections that are bonded between the baristas and customers is unlike anything I've seen at any other job I've had. It's a joyous feeling to be a part of a team that matters to the community, not only four our (like really amazing) coffee but also because of our positive impact on their day.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Hands down, it's the people that I am so incredibly lucky to work with. Every day I learn something new, and you just wouldn't believe how much I laugh every day! Also, finally learning how to make my own oat cortado has been a big perk.

What are your aspirations for the future?

First, I'd like to get better at my latte art (currently pouring a promising 'blob'). Next, world famous painter with my work hanging in the Louvre.

Ultimately, my only plan is to make a positive impact.

What is your favorite beverage?

Have I mentioned I like an oat cortado?

Next time you're hangin' around our Palm Springs location, say hi to Clara!
