From Cooperativa de Caficultores de Dota R.L (CoopeDota), a one-of-a-kind cooperative in Costa Rica, comes Maria De Dota Natural. CoopeDota, in its environmentally-conscious fashion, has a carbon-neutral mill, which features hydro-powered energy consumption, water efficient eco-pulpers (demucilagers), and mechanical coffee dryers fueled by coffee parchment. Approximately 900 producer-members of this cooperative prioritize farm management throughout the year and then deliver cherry to the CoopeDota mill, where traceability and quality control are incredibly important. CoopeDota also offers a complex representation of income diversification with a profitable agriculture supply store and tourism department devoted to showcasing coffee farms to visitors. Additionally, they roast their own coffee and operate three cafes and a cupper/barista training center.
