Step 1
Seat filter into brew chamber. If possible, rinse with hot water to ensure filter is seated properly and adequately rinsed/preheated.
-
Step 2
Add roughly 2 grams of medium-coarse ground coffee for every fluid ounce of water (roughly a 1:15 ratio by weight). For a 32oz carafe, this is about 60-65 grams of ground coffee.

Step 1
Briefly engage group to stabilize temperature and remove any trapped coffee grounds from prior shots. Rinse portafilter if necessary.
-
Step 2
Dry portafilter completely using a clean rag
-
Step 3
Weigh 17 grams of espresso-fine ground coffee and add into the portafilter
-
Step 4
Level/distribute grounds in portafilter by tapping gently on the sides - coffee will move towards the source of the tapping, so tap gently on lower areas. After horizontal distribution is complete, lightly tap portafilter on counter 2-3 times to settle the bed.
-
Step 5
Tamp the grounds - try to make the surface as even/flat as possible. Don't worry about tamping too lightly or too softly. Instead, just focus on getting a nice, even surface on the top.
-
Step 6
Groom loose grounds from edges of portafilter
-
Step 7
Immediately insert portafilter into machine and engage group
-
Step 8
Pull 32-36 grams (or roughly double your weight in ground coffee if dosing a different amount) in 28-32 seconds
-
Step 9
Immediately knock out spent grounds after brewing and rinse any remaining grounds from the portafilter prior to reinserting
-
Enjoy!
When not brewing, keep portafilter in group to retain heat

Step 1
Grind coffee to a medium-coarse level. It should be a little finer than what you would use for a French press but more coarse than what you use for drip. Put ground coffee into the filter basket
-
Step 2
Saturate the grounds completely with 1,150 to 1,200 mL of fresh, filtered water. Do your best to really agitate the grounds while you pour to ensure even extraction. Cover brewer and place in a dark spot. Do not place in the refrigerator - ambient temperature is best.
-
Enjoy!
Wait 18-20 hours. Open brewer, remove filter, and refrigerate!

Step 1
Open the Chemex filter so that there are 3 layers on one side and one ply on the other. Place the filter in the Chemex with the 3-ply side facing the spout.
-
Step 2
Rinse your filter with near boiling water so that the filter seals on to the walls of the Chemex. Drain from the single ply side.
-
Step 3
Place the Chemex on the scale and zero/tare it. Add 40 grams of medium-coarse ground coffee into the brewer. Gently shake to level, and make a small divot in the center with a spoon (or your finger).
-
Step 4
Start the timer. Pour in 50 grams of hot water to bloom the ground coffee. Stir the bloom gently in an excavating motion. Wait until the timer reaches 30 seconds.
-
Step 5
At 0:30, spiral pour (to evenly saturate the coffee bed) to 340 grams over time until the timer reads 1 minute.
-
Enjoy!
Bring the pour to the center and continue the pour rate so that the total weight is 680 grams at 2 minutes.

Step 1
Place v60 on the brewing vessel. Grab a v60 filter, fold the seam down, open the filter, and place it in the device.
-
Step 2
Rinse the filter with near boiling water so that the filter seals on the edges of the v60 and the brewer is adequately preheated. Dump out the rinse water.
-
Step 3
Place the v60 on the scale and zero/tare it. Add 24 grams of medium-fine ground coffee into the brewer. Gently shake to level, and make a small divot in the center with a spoon (or your finger).
-
Step 4
Start the timer. Pour in 50 grams of hot water to bloom the ground coffee. Swirl the brewer gently to ensure even saturation. If bubbles are still appearing on the surface, stir the bloom gently in an excavating motion. Wait until the timer reaches 30 seconds.
-
Step 5
At 0:30, spiral pour (to evenly saturate the coffee bed) to 200 grams over time until the timer reads 1 minute.
-
Step 6
Pour in the center and continue at a consistent pour rate so that the total weight is 384 grams at 2 minutes.
-
Step 7
Gently swirl the brewer once more to level the bed. The remaining water in the bed should draw down between 2:15 and 2:45, depending on the coffee used.
-
Step 8
Remove cone and dispose of filter. Swirl or stir brewed coffee, pour into serving vessel, and enjoy!
